This article describes how to download virus definitions from Symantec.
Applies To:Windows XP Home and Professional installed with Symantec AntiVirus.
Requirements:- To install the updates in this procedure, you must have installed Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, version 9.0.
- You will need to be logged into an account with administrative privledges to perform this procedure.
- Download http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/download/us-files/rapidrelease/symrapidreleasedefsx86.exe to your desktop.
- Once your download is complete, double-click on the file to execute it.
- Allow the updates to complete.
- After the updates have completed, click OK on the box titled Symantec Security Response Intelligent Updater. It will contain the following message: "Search complete. Thank you for using Intelligent Updater."
